For a few years I have been making this secret coconut scrub to help fight against the terrible sickness of having shaving bumps and also as little gifts to my family and friends. Not only is this low-cost but it’s also an easy way out for being a cheap gifter! Everyone I have given this scrub to has always requested more.
Now here’s how to make the secret dreamy coconut body scrub:
Stardust Lemon Coconut body scrub:
I will not give you an exact estimate on how much you are supposed to use with each ingredient because I think it should be based on how you want the texture and what size you want, with the fact that everyone has a different preference.
- Lemon Shavings
- Burt’s and Bee’s Bath and Body oil (which is the secret ingredient by the way and you can also find it at your local target store.)
- unrefined coconut oil
- Food coloring (optional)
Lavender Dreams Coconut body scrub:
- Lavender buds (you can buy in bulk for super cheap online or you can take them from your neighbors lawn)
- Lavender Essential oil
- Burt’s and Bee’s Bath and Body oil
- and of course, unrefined coconut oil!
- food coloring (optional)
You will want to start with filling up the sugar to just a little under full in a jar. Then pour the sugar into a decent sized bowl (again, it varies on how much you are making and you want it big enough that you are not going to make a giant mess stirring everything together) and now we get to the fun stuff!
Mix in all the lovely lavender buds or lemon shavings. We want to get all the dry ingredients together.
Melt the coconut oil under hot water for a few minutes or until a fair amount is melted.
Pour a bit of coconut oil into the sugar, you do not need much. But again it is all based on your preference! If you like your texture a little more wet, I would recommend putting more coconut oil in, If you like your texture more dry try to stick to less coconut oil.
You do not need a lot of Burt’s and Bee’s oil either. You need to use this product very seldom and I would recommend about one teaspoon to a tablespoon of coconut oil. It will just get a little too oily if you know what I mean..
If you are adding the fun colors or the essential oil, I would advise to adding them now. Add accordingly to how dark/light or how much scent you want your scrub to have!
Now you have the most amazing scrub ever and using it right after you shave is highly suggested. Or even if you don’t shave it’s still great for you too! Also, if you have different ideas for scents, colors or whatever else you can think of you should give it a go!
Hope you guys are having a good Sunday! Let me know if you try this and how it goes!
